Everyone welcome
I have a wide range of experience teaching people of varying ages (17 to 50), male or female, part trained or complete beginners.
Lessons may be semi-intensive or weekly sessions to help spread the cost.
Many new drivers can be very nervous especially during the first few sessions. It is very important that they are given adequate reassurance so that confidence can increase as their car skills progress.
For those who have already passed their test, I can offer Pass Plus sessions under the Hampshire County Council scheme. Drivers new to the UK may wish to have a few lessons just to gain confidence on our busy roads.

Areas covered
In general terms I cover areas from Bitterne and Eastleigh in the West through to Portchester in the East.
Northwards my area extends to Wickham, Botley and Bishops Waltham.

College collection/drop off
Where students are attending college, it is often useful to book the lessons around their free periods. By encouraging students to drive to and/or from their colleges they can benefit from combining the lesson with their travel plans.
Colleges frequently covered include Bay House, South Downs, Highbury, Itchen and Barton Peveril.

Lesson structure
Generally sessions are of 1.5 or 2 hours in duration as this optimises the learning experience.
Each session starts with a recap on what has happened previously so that an objective for the session can be set.
It is important that students know what they are aiming for.
Individual records are maintained for every student so that they can review how they are doing and understand the level they need to reach to be ready for their test.
At the end of the session we review what progress has been made and set goals for the next session.

Test preparation
Regular progress reviews allow the student to recognise areas of weakness and identify elements they are confident with.
As their skills progress, a Mock Test will be undertaken to monitor progress and ensure test standard has been reached.
Together we agree when the driving test should be booked.
